Arrival Whitehorse

Welcome to Whitehorse! We’ll meet you at the airport for your hotel transfer. The capital of the Yukon is bustling with life but still possesses its small town charm. Surrounded by breathtaking mountain ranges you will be able to take in the bracing clear air as you stroll past historic buildings from the Gold Rush era. The hotel is well situated for you to set out on foot and enjoy the best of the town’s shops, restaurants and bars. After a relaxed dinner you have the opportunity to join our evening northern lights program in our cozy yurt at the Aurora Centre. As one of the most sought-after northern experiences, a Yukon winter vacation is only complete with watching these magnificent lights cascading across the Yukon’s night sky. Day free for optional sightseeing and touring. Try one of our many Yukon winter activities. You’ll have the chance to experience Jack London’s Yukon when experiencing the region’s most popular sport: dog sledding! Or you might appreciate the opportunity to experience the Yukon at a more relaxing pace. Visit the Yukon Wildlife Preserve for close views of many of the Yukon’s large mammal species including elk, moose, mule deer, caribou, Dall’s sheep, mountain goats, bison and even the musk-ox of the high Arctic, all in their natural surroundings. Finish this experience by darting through the frigid air to ease yourself into the hot waters of Takhini Hotsprings then sit back to enjoy the breathtaking winter mountain scenery. Tagish Wilderness Lodge

The ski plane transfer will pick you up at your hotel. On board this amazing and versatile aircraft will enjoy a spectacular 30-minute scenic flight over Yukon’s winter wilderness then land on the frozen Tagish Lake where your hosts awaiting you. You’ll have some time to settle in your log cabin and enjoy a hot beverage and some homemade pastries. As evening descends we will venture on to the frozen Tagish Lake and to again marvel at the Northern Lights. For your comfort, we have a campfire and traditional spruce shelter with hot beverages and thick blankets keep you warm until the spectacle unfolds. That night in your private log cabin you will fall asleep to the sound of cracking ice in the lake and drifting snow.

Wake up with the excitement of a day of adventure ahead of you! It’s time to explore the wilderness around you using snowshoes or on foot or try your luck with ice fishing. Warm up in the evening in our wood-heated sauna. After a delectable northern-style dinner you are ready for another evening of dancing sky light adventure.
