During this fun-packed winter program you will travel like a musher, dine like a fisherman, track like a stampeder - explore like a local.

During a spectactular sightseeing flight above the surrounding area of Whitehorse you’ll have a chance to see the grand landscape of the far north. We’ll take you to explore the rich history of the Yukon during a city tour, watch local wildlife upclose at the Yukon Wildlife Preseve and relax in the soothing hot waters of the local hot springs. Learn how to mush with your team of huskies which will wisk you away onto trails in the winter wonderland. Feel the rush of driving a snowmobile into the backcountry to magnificent view points. You’ll setout on a beautiful winter lake to discover the tranquility of ice fishing. If your are lucky and catch a nice fish your guide will fillet it and cook it on the fire. Set your tracks during a snowshoeing tour among some of the most impressive landscapes. On three evenings of your choice, you’ll travel just outside the city centre, but far enough from the city lights to an idyllic Northern Lights viewing location, the AuroraCentre. The evenings will feature relaxing Northern Lights viewing beside a cozy wood stove or roaring campfire. A winter vacation is truly complete with the chance to view the aurora borealis cascading across the night sky.

WILDLIFE, HOT SPRINGS, A BIRDS-EYE-VIEW AND NORTHERN LIGHTS

We start the day with a sightseeing flight above the spectacular winter scenery on a 30 minutes sightseeing flight. During the flight we can enjoy the yukon winter from an angle only few people ever will. Back in Whitehorse we will discover the history of the north on a city-sightseeing tour. Whitehorse has a lot to offer and is home to famous sights like the historic Paddlewheeler SS Klondike or a “Skyscraper” completely made out of logs. Later we drive to the Yukon Wildlife Preserve where we can see up close inhabitant game like the Elk, Moose, Caribou, Mountain Goats and Lynx in their natural surrounding. Not far from here we will visit the Takhini Hotsprings and endulge ourself in the natural hot waters and relax in a breathtaking winter mountain setting. After a relaxed dinner in Whitehorse, you’ll be back on the road again, this time to seek views of the stunning Northern Lights. Relax in sheltered comfort, or under the starry sky beside a warm fire at one of our tailor-made aurora viewing locations. Accommodation: Raven Inn

THE HUSKIES ARE WAITING FOR US AND NORTHERN LIGHTS

Today we’ll learn the old tradition of mushing (dog sledding). After a detailed safety briefing we’ll get introduced to the art of dog sledding and soon we’ll be on our way along the frozen winter trails. We’ll feel the power and durance of the dogs, listen to their breaths and feel the creaking snow under the runners. A very unique experience! Back from the dog sledding trip you can reward yourself with a beer from the famous Yukon Brewery at one of the downtown restaurants. Later in the evening we set out to the AuroraCentre where we’ll seek the sight of northern lights. Accommodation: Raven Inn.

ON FAST TRACKS THROUGH THE SNOW

After breakfast we drive into the mountains closeby Whitehorse. After a detailed safety introduction we step on our snowmobiles. With enjoyable speed we’ll pass through the memorable winter scenery of the Yukon and soak up the view of snow covered mountains and lakes with thick layers of ice. With a snowmobile, the journey can be an exhilarating ride up and down magnificent mountains or a relaxing tour through the forest and down historic trails. Tonight is another chance to see the Aurora Borealis as we set out to the AuroraCentre. Accommodation: Raven Inn

FISHING ON A FROZEN LAKE

Today we will head out for an ice fishing adventure on one of the beautiful lakes in the Whitehorse area. With the help of an ice-auger, we will drill a hole in the ice. The ice on a lake can be from 30 cm to onemeter- thick! Hot drinks will be available to keep us toasty. Take a look around and enjoy the beauty of a winter’s day while waiting for the big catch! If we are lucky and catch a nice trout your guide will fillet it and cook it on the fire. At the end of our day we return to Whitehorse with a record catch of great memories. Accommodation: Raven Inn

SETTING TRACK IN WINTER WONDERLAND

Snowshoeing is one of the best ways to enjoy the tranquility of the Yukon wilderness and to photograph the stunning Yukon landscape. On our half day snowshoeing tour, you’ll get to strap on a pair of lightweight modern snowshoes and experience the rugged backcountry just like the gold miners, trappers and fur traders of days gone by. Tour visits a scenic location in the Whitehorse area backcountry. Wildlife such as spruce grouse, foxes, coyotes and snowshoe hares is occasionally spotted at a distance. Accommodation: Raven Inn

I really thank you for taking good care of us during our stay in Whitehorse. I visited there with my mom and enjoyed great nature with southern lights and snow shoeing guided by Himeno san.
